There are three categories of listing on the SPMRT:

Pilates Matwork Teacher

Teachers in this category have met the requirements of the SPM Matwork Standard in their training. They have a current subscription to a membership body operated by an SPM Professional Member or have a direct relationship with an SPM Professional Member. Their annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirement is overseen by the SPM Professional Member as their parent organisation, who will confirm the teacher’s CPD record to PD:Approval, the administrator of the Register.

Entry on to the SPMRT is through a teacher’s parent organisation.

Pilates Comprehensive Teacher

Teachers in this category have met the requirements of both the SPM Matwork Standard and the Studio Apparatus Standard in their training. They are qualified to teach 1:1 and group matwork classes, and also the full range of studio apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Barrels, Chair) though to advanced level. They have a current subscription to a membership body operated by an SPM Professional Member or  have a direct relationship with an SPM Professional Member. Their annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirement is overseen by the SPM Professional Member as their parent organisation, who will confirm the teacher’s CPD record to PD:Approval, the administrator of  the Register.

Entry on to the SPMRT is through a teacher’s parent organisation.

Pilates Matwork Instructor (Associate Member)

Teachers in this category hold a UK Level 3 Pilates Ofqual regulated qualification. In order to join the SPMRT they have committed to:

  • Meet the SPM’s annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirement by attending accredited CPD activities. Their annual CPD Record is submitted to, and approved by, PD:Approval.
  • Undertake additional training in the form of a Bridging Course that will update their training so that it meets the requirements of the SPM Matwork Standard. This must be completed within two years of joining the SPMRT.

Entry on to the SPMRT is through application to PD:Approval.
